The church of Melay was rebuilt in the 19th century on the site of a Romanesque building. The remains of the Romanesque church are still very visible: at the level of the bell tower and the bay under the bell tower. Moreover, a surprising series of eight sculpted capitals allow this monument to be classified in the list of Romanesque churches of the Brionnais.
