Exposition "In memoriam"

"If, through a physical or psychological journey, one becomes aware of the end, one might also learn another way of reaching it.
Wrapping, packing, rolling up – in this interplay with the material, I make room for the unexpected. Rhythm comes into play, emerging from the gesture.
Movement becomes a seismograph.
Using repetition to give memory a concrete form, as if the protective wrapping could separate the pain from the memory.
Capturing each stage photographically.
Sometimes all that remains is a shadow, a swirling void.
Using these printed sheets as a starting point and reworking them becomes a fresh start towards the second dimension.
The line, drawn by hand, follows the contours, much like a seismograph.
The character of the line becomes an expression in its own right.
What remains in the end: a beginning and an end, and all the traces of this journey through memory.”
