For its 25th edition, Melay's nativity scene exhibition offers an exceptional journey. It features cots from Krakow, treasures of Polish folk art, while also presenting two delicate Provençal settings from the collection of André-Pierre Marchand, bequeathed to the commune before his death.
The event also features a traditional cot from southern Portugal, created by Alexandra Ribeiro Custodio with craftswoman Adelia Andrade. Designed using natural and recycled materials, their animated scenes bear witness to living know-how and a centuries-old tradition.
The exhibition, which has become a landmark, also owes its success to the commitment of local residents, elected representatives, municipal employees and volunteers, as well as the "P'tite équipe", who create new scenes and the famous animated cot every year. Finally, it pays tribute to Father Joseph Duclaux, whose cots were already attracting thousands of visitors in the 1970s.
And don't forget to take a stroll through the illuminated and decorated streets of the town.
