Against the spectacular backdrop of a 15th-century Cluny-style tower, classified as a historical landmark with its magnificent structural frame in wood beams, pulley hoists and intriguing ornate facade, this museum displays a wide array of local memorabilia, stone sculptures, a statuary and a section on prehistory and archaeology including fossils. It also houses a museum of earthenware, featuring collections from Charles Damiron, Moustiers, Rouen, Nevers, Urbino, Faenza, etc. Also on exhibit: a decorative salt shaker set from Bernard Palissy's collection, 19th-century Dufour and Zuber wallpaper designs, an 18th-century apothecary, the re-creation of famous figures (General Fressinet and General de Précy), along with alchemy instruments.
